I worked overseas in a corporate vet group for many years before I returned to South Africa. Although originally from Bloemfontein, we returned to George and we love it here. My mission from the beginning has been to set up a one stop shop for pet owners in George where they could always get everything they wanted and more. Building the Vitalvet Animal Medical Centre was a dream come true and now our mission is to be a 24hr care hospital for pets on the Garden Route and surrounds. I am as excited about our role in the community as I was when I first started here 16 years ago.
I have wanted to help animals since I read all James Herriot’s books as a teenager. I am grateful to be able to play a role in keeping pets healthy and happy and to heal their hurts when necessary. Working in the team at VAMC is a priviledge and I am blessed to be able to spend my working days with people who really care - my kind of people!
I qualified from Onderstepoort in 1996 and in all these years I have worked in many different practices and organisations. Vitalvet is the pinnacle of my long career - somewhere I am able to practice cutting edge veterinary medicine and surgery with the latest and most advanced technology. This is truly fulfilling to be able to bring my absolute best to my precious patients that I have been dedicated to for so long.
I qualified from Onderstepoort in 2005. I am originally from Alberton but joined the Vitalvet family at the end of 2023. I enjoy long walks on the beach with my wife and two sons. There is nothing more satisfying at work then to improve the bond between clients and their pets.
I started my career in small animal practice in Cape Town in 2003 after qualification from Onderstepoort. My career has taken me to the UK and back to South Africa where I spent 9 years in Onrus running my own practice. I was always waiting for a chance to move to the Garden Route and be closer to my family. When the opportunity arose in 2021 to work in a purpose built veterinary hospital for Vitalvet it was too good to miss. I am passionate about all things related to small animals - medicine, surgery, emergency and intensive care. I see the patient-client relationship as something to be cherished. It is my motivation to do my best to keep my patients healthy so that they can spend their best life with their owners.
At the tender age of 3, I used to bandage up my fluffy toys and knew already what I wanted to do! I qualified from Onderstepoort in 2021 and after community service and various locums in SA and the UK, I joined the Vitalvet team in 2024. Being a vet brings me so much joy and I am blessed to be in a profession that excites and challenges me on a daily basis. I love hearing from clients what makes their pets so important in their lives and I love working to keep pets healthy and part of the family.
I am wife to a vet, mother of two and I have 4 furkids. Being a vet nurse has always been my calling. I thrive on playing a role in sustaining the human-animal bond.
I have been a vet nurse since 1998. I started out in Hout Bay but spent the next 20 years working overseas. In 2022 I decided it was time to come back to my beautiful country and was fortunate to find a nurse position at Vitalvet. After 26years, I am still passionate about being a veterinary nurse.
Michelle was trained to be a human nurse and the people’s loss is our gain. Michelle is our Inpatient Manager - she goes the extra mile to assist vets and nurses with procedures and is also happy to spend ages in the kennels trying to coax animals to eat or take their medicine. Mom of 3, she is a kind heart and our patients are lucky to be in her care.
I qualified as an animal health technician in 2020 and started my journey with small animals at the SPCA in 2021. I entered the interesting world of veterinary private practice in 2022 and I have not looked back. Working at a vet clinic is one of the most fufilling things I can do knowing I am helping those who can’t help themselves.
I am originally from Durban and have been in the veterinary industry since 2018. My family and I love the outdoors and following new dirtroads to places we can camp and explore. I am an administrative whizz and enjoy meeting pets and their people.
I am relatively new to Vitalvet but I love being a receptionist - seeing all the wagging tails and puppy love coming through the door. I am absolutely a people person, thriving around others and I am thoroughly enjoying the opportunity to work with vets and nurses.

I have been at vitalvet for 6 years and every day I am reminded of the special bond between humans and animals and I feel priviledged to be a part of that bond. Working in a veterinary clinic enables me to use my extensive skill set - from primary animal care to management and client servicing.
I started working for Vitalvet in 2014 and so I have grown with the business from its small start to where we are today. Vitalvet allows me to combine my passion and love for animals with my business skills and working in a dream team makes it all worthwhile.
