Vitalvet is a veterinary health care and retail group on the Garden Route whose focus is ONE HEALTH for our animals, our people and our planet. We go to work every day to make the world a better place for your best friend.
Vitalvet Animal Medical Centre is at the heart of the group where our family of vets use the latest veterinany knowledge and nursing to make sick pets well again.

Dr Awie de Villiers returned home to George in South Africa after owning his own veterinary practice in the United Kingdom for 9 years. Always enjoying a new challenge, he moved into the world of veterinary retail and set about levelling up the petcare experience. He wanted to to create the ultimate in convenience for pet owners in George and surrounds.

He has achieved his goal and now the VitalVet Pet Care and Retail Group not only caters for online and in person sales at its flagship store in York Street, George – it also boasts a fully serviced vet clinic in the heart of Mossel Bay, and a 7-vet strong practice in Knysna Road, George – boasting the latest in laboratory and diagnostic imaging as well as 2 fully equipped theatre suites and separate dog, cat and isolation wards for post op in inpatient care.

Yes, we are open all-day Saturday from 08:00 – 17:00 and we are on-call 24/7 on 072 088 1957.

Yes, we have qualified veterinary nurses looking after our patients all night with veterinary oversight as needed.

Yes, we can arrange all sorts of advanced imaging here on-site and we also travel with patients to human facilities when required.

Yes, we have a separate ward for cats to minimize their stress in hospital. We also make use of pheromone products to reduce stress in hospital.

We do offer monthly repayments via FLOAT whereby we use existing credit card credit to pay your account off at zero % interest.
